today i want to say thank you to the people who were so passionate about overturning the defense of marriage act. i know a lot of people gave so much time and energy to raising awareness and garnering support for marriage equality in our country.
i am also extremely grateful to senator wendy davis for her marathon filibuster yesterday that helped defeat SB 5. and for all the people who were able to show up to support her.
yesterday i was really concerned that my state, and my country, would be taking a few steps back into the dark ages. this morning i am more optimistic. thank you.
