busy, busy

despite my intentions to get back on the  blog horse, it has been crazy busy around here and i just haven’t done it.  the kids and i have had a bazillion appts of various kinds and mr p has been working full time getting ready for the impending school year.

i have squeezed in a few creative projects.  i am involved in several online groups for doll makers and participated in a “pocket doll” swap.  i made this tiny mermaid for my partner.  it is still in the mail system somewhere, traveling to canada.

i also made this blanket baby (my first) for the squirm’s teacher who is expecting a baby girl in october.  i am thrilled for her, but her upcoming maternity leave is going to complicate my life.

i figure, when life gets stressful, make a cute gift!

i have been kind of lazy about cooking since we got home from the beach. it’s hot, and i have been running around like crazy.

i did make a chicken curry in my crockpot that was very yummy!  i can’t wait for it to cool down to the point that crock pot dinners and bubbly casseroles seem more appropriate.

school starts for the squirm on monday, so i’ll be spending the next few days writing his name on everything with permanent marker.

hope all is well with everyone!

The blanket doll is beautiful. It’s great that you are creating amongst all the busy-ness.

At the end of the day I look at what I’ve done – work, more work, some housework (emphasis on some), and running around attending to kid’s needs. Some craft or study would be good.

it is nice to get projects done! i feel like i have been working on a crocheted blanket forever and i am still not close to actually finishing. but i love being able to make handmade gifts!
