thanksgiving holiday

we got lucky this year and had 5 days of great weather during mr p and the squirm’s vacation.  the weather has now turned to cold and windy, but earlier in the week we had some great park adventures.

we spent the bulk of our time in the park across the street, but took a short trip into bee caves intending to check out the “hoppin’ house” (an inflatable paradise).  sadly the squirm didn’t like the way it sounded and the squirt didn’t like the way it looked and so we were off to bee caves central park!

because our plan had been for inside fun, we were a little under-dressed for the weather, but the squirm had a great time running around and climbing on the cool playscape.

we also ventured out to our local walkway of lights.  the squirt didn’t like the way it looked (this is becoming a theme) but the squirm had an awesome time!

actually he and mr p are there now, for an encore, while the squirt and i enjoy some jack’s big music show and a little quiet time.

fortunately the walkway will be available until new year’s, so they will have lots of opportunities to visit.

you might have noticed a dearth of crowded family photos, featuring prominent golden turkeys and all the trimmings?  we didn’t really do that this year, but no worries, we managed to eat plenty of food this week.  we had gumbo with my aunt and uncle early on, a roast chicken dinner with my parents, turkey breast and fresh green bean casserole (no cans) here, and a delicious pumpkin dump cake.

Sounds like a winner of a Thanksgiving to me. Being together with family and enjoying the time together is the important part. :
