spin spin sugar

life has been kicking my tail feathers here, but i wanted to do a quick post of one thing i have been up to.

one of my favorite workouts when i lived in the big city was spinning, or indoor cycling.  i found it fast paced enough to keep me from getting bored, and it seems to burn lots of calories!

the totally awesome rec center in the next town over started offering classes this week!  woooohooo!  i grabbed my uncle’s partner dale and we were off to the races!

keeping with the spirit of honesty and openness, i am going to admit to a certain amount of apprehension before the class started, but once i was 15 minutes into it i was having a great time!

i wish we lived closer to the rec center.  my neighborhood seems like a ghost town once the sun goes down.  it is dark and there is no sign of human life.  this is particularly depressing in the winter, when the dark hours start early and seem to stretch on forever.

at the rec center it was bustling.  filled with people and their kids, chatting and laughing and going about active lives!  it was great!

unfortunately our schedule makes it hard for me to spend as much time there as i would like, but i am aiming for twice a week.  tonight i experiment with having a sitter come for the boys while i go to spinning.  fingers crossed it all works out!!

the sitter did come, but we had a lack of transportation in some areas, so we ended up going for coffee instead. i was glad that i still took advantage of the sitter and got out of the house!!

It’s great “time out” for you, which you need, so I hope things work out and you can get there on a regular basis.
