i managed to get my act together to participate in another artist trading card swap. this one was a direct exchange. the way it is usually done is someone hosts a particular swap, everyone sends their cards to that person. then the host shuffles the cards and sends three new cards back to everyone.
in this swap, partners were assigned and the cards were traded directly. i don’t know why, but i found it more intimidating. partly because i was running late, due to the whole walking pneumonia issue, and i received the cards from my partner before i had a chance to do mine. getting cards in a trade is hit or miss on quality, but these cards are amazing! so i felt extra determined to make mine worthy.
you have probably gleaned from my images that the theme of this swap was owls. on mr p’s recommendation, my first card is titled “the birth of athena,” and shows zeus post owl popping out of his head.
the second card depicts a dapper skeleton bringing flowers to his ghostly owl love, and the third is a picasso-inspired cubist owl collage.
i like the way they turned out, so they are off to their new home in puerto rico.
Interesting design and artistic.I like picasso and the third photo is written Japanese.
yes, someone sent me some paper (a newsletter maybe?) from japan to use in collages and other projects!
sounds like a lot of fun. i like the owl love his big eyes! too cute!
This sounds like a blast! I loved all the pictures equally. 😀
