a sight for sore eyes

ok, i admit it, i have been grumping around here all morning.  i was feeling tired and a little put upon by having to host a birthday party at the tail end of a month that has been kicking my…well, tail.

but then a couple of things happened. first,  everyone went away, except the squirt, who fell asleep.  a little peace and quiet makes everything better.

then i started poking around some of the art sites i am a member of, but never have time to check out.  i watched a video on creating patterns put out by the company that makes my favorite drawing pens.  it was pretty inspiring, so i went on to download the current issue of art trader, a publication i love!  even more inspiring!

then i got a really nice (virtual) note from one of my favorite co-workers from the sbux days letting me know that i am not the only one suffering from pcos, and that she was there if i ever wanted to commiserate.

well of course now i am blubbering like one of the babies, but damn if it didn’t make me feel better.

my littlest is up from his nap and we are gorging ourselves on some yummy middle eastern salad and hummus while watching big big and snuffy sing “la la la la la, la la la la la….”  i am starting to feel a little bit like i can handle the coming week.

I think surprise notes of support like that are like angelic gifts.
I hope you feel better and perkier soon. 🙂

  2. Sleep deprivation is such a difficult obstacle for moms of little ones. Without enough sleep, you can really feel like the world is closing in and it is really difficult to go on.
I’m glad you had a little peaceful time to feed your soul. 🙂
I applaud your honesty…many mothers don’t speak up when things aren’t going the way they think they should. I hope you get lots of words of encouragement…I used to write little notes and put them in my kid’s lunch bags…I still leave my husband a little love note on the mornings I go to work.
    I’m enjoying your posts. 🙂
