egg hunters in training

we don’t usually do the whole easter thing around here. it probably has more to do with the kids being young than anything else. i mean, i really liked it as a kid, and for us it didn’t really have any religious connotations. any excuse for presents right?

but this year, because the squirm’s birthday fell on easter weekend, we are having family visitors, including cousins, who have expectations about eggs and bunnies. we weren’t really sure the squirm would really get the concept of egg searching, so we decided to make a test run.

the boys seemed unsure about what they were supposed to be doing, and the mass of screaming, running kids didn’t really help. but in the end i think the love of eggs was found. what’s not to like? they are bright colors and contain a crinkly paper candy surprise inside!

i think we are ready for tomorrow’s hunt! but first, the squirm’s birthday party is this afternoon!

Happy Birthday to your Squirt! It was a good birthday weekend – my dad turned 89 and we had a big party yesterday. It was also the birthday of one of his long-time friends who was in attendance and today is the 40th birthday of my nephew’s wife, who was also there. I must get away from all this cake 😮

Hope you have a lovely weekend with your family!
