hmm, this topic seems somewhat unfair to our landlocked blog friends, who may not have ever seen a beach, and probably don’t have access to one this week. i am hoping for some interesting interpretations of the challenge!
we have taken beach vacations with my parents for the last three summers. the first year we went to galveston, then traveled to matagorda the second and third.
the first year the squirm was only 2 months old and not really sure what he t
hought about the beach. year two he was running around, having a great time! not so sure about the whole gulf thing, but the sand was a big hit.
i love the picture on the left because the squirm has mr p and his papa all involved in the canal project. we spent a lot of time that year on castles and holes to china.
squirticus made his first beach trip last summer. at that time he was more of a swimmer than a builder, so we spent more time at the pool than on the beach. that was ok with me, i feel like i have gotten less adventurous over time, especially when it comes to blood thirsty mosquitoes and sand in my bathing suit.

Great shots!
thanks!!
I’m really looking forward to showing DD the sea sometime this year. (We are in a landlocked city, but not really all that far from the coast.) I hope she’ll enjoy it as much as your boys evidently do!
Your boys look like they really enjoy the beach! It’s a great place for kids – they can stretch their imagination making sand-castles and stuff! Great photos!
Great… looks like everyone had a great time. I love watching the ocean from a distance… I truly love being around water; bodies of water. It’s just the other stuff I don’t like, the unforgiving sun, the sand… I don’t like the sand very much… 🙂
