weekly photo challenge: spring

i apologize that my posts have been somewhat (and by somewhat i mean completely) lacking in substance this week (and by substance i mean words).  it has been spring break here and having all the boys home has kept me quite busy.  i did get some pictures of our plum tree in flower.  something i definitely take as an early sign of spring.

i am happy to report that my garden is coming along nicely too.  my zucchini is quite perky and my snow pea seeds are sprouting!  the broccoli is looking much better (and taller) and mr stripey has doubled in size.  i can’t wait to post some pics of vegetables ripening!

the warmer nights also mean that mr snack stays out all evening doing whatever cats do at night.  i kind of miss snuggling with the guy on cold nights, and i worry that he is tormenting our sweet backyard neighbor.

Nothing like spring blooms and vegetable gardens to remind us that Spring has sprung.

Our plum tree is incredible: every season it changes right on time. Our lawn is carpeted in gorgeous leaves at the moment.

last summer ours made plums like crazy. i think i have still have jelly in the pantry! strangely though, one half of the tree has died. it doesn’t seem to bother the living side, but it looks kind of funny.
