too sensitive for this world

so, i made an attempt to start a book club in town, to reach out.  first response was good, but then several people backed out because they felt they didn’t have enough time.  completely understandable, it is going to be a stretch for me as well, but of course it hurt my feelings *whimper*

i am determined to persevere!  two of us will be meeting later this month.  it will still be great to get out and have a discussion with another adult.  maybe the other ladies will join in later when they have more free time.  *fingers crossed*

isn’t it funny how much making new friends is like dating?  so much fear of rejection….

i borrowed the awesome picture from here.

Congratulations on starting a book club. I always thought it’s be such fun to join one. I hope your membership increases and your club becomes a success for many decades to come. 🙂

You’re braver than me. I do need to make more of an effort to make new local friends, though…

i have been here for 6 years and don’t have any close friends, but tons of acquaintances. so it has taken me a while to reach out. actually i did start an artist trading card club a few years ago, and it was fun, but eventually fell apart. i miss it! we will see how it goes, it is so much easier just to stay home and hang with the family.

Have you considered an online book club … I ask as I am a HUGE READER and am always seeking out others who read too! Same concept just not in person! LOL

Off to check out your pages! 🙂
